In 1995, our founder Mr. Sunil Agarwal noticed a gap in the market. While there was plenty of rice available, there was a lack of truly premium Basmati rice that maintained traditional quality while being accessible to everyday households.
Coming from a family with agricultural roots, Mr. Agarwal understood the importance of preserving the natural aroma and texture of Basmati rice. He started Mekal with a simple mission: to bring authentic, high-quality Basmati rice to every Indian home at reasonable prices.
What began as a small family-run mill in Narsinghpur has grown into one of Central India's most trusted rice manufacturers, serving thousands of satisfied customers across the nation.
